This is the newest tattoo I have. I got it back in February I think. It’s very significant for me. The bird of paradise flower represents my grandmother on my father’s side. This was her favorite flower. The hummingbird represents Trinidad, as that was where my grandfather was from. Trinidad is known as the land of hummingbirds. The hummingbird is eating from the flower- effectively my grandmother provided life, sustainability, beauty for my grandfather.
It always takes a while to explain it to people. But ya know what, if you don’t care, don’t ask. I’m undecided if I want to add more to it. More tropical themes and what not. It looks so lonely. The pair, just hangin out on my forearm. I don’t want a sleeve but…. my grandparents had 6 kids. They were always throwing parties. It doesn’t seem right for it to just be the two of them. I don’t know. We’ll see.
